Tis the season…

Ugh…Christmas. Rich and I recently moved out of my parents house and into our new apartment. Our funds are limited and I don’t really give a shit if we give anyone gifts.

We were at my parents house for one month. It went well. My mother was on her best behavior because Rich was there. My father was being “good”, too. It went better than I had expected. I’m happy we are out of there, though. “Triggers” were everywhere for me. The smell of my mothers hairspray triggered me. Writing about this shit is so difficult. It’s a start…

Unfortunate turn of events…

Wow, what a crazy 24 hours.
My dog, Maiden, got kicked in the head by a neighbor, Michael my roommate/boyfriends BFF since childhood turned out to be an abusive asshole (they are no longer friends), and now Rich, Maiden and myself need to find a new place to live ASAP! More detailed information to come in my next post…

ASCA Site Ranked in Top 10 for Survivors

Great resources!

Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (ASCA)

The ASCA Program’s web site, http://www.ascasupport.org, has been ranked as one of the top 10 web sites on healing from child abuse by GoodTherapy.org, an association of mental health professionals from more than 25 countries worldwide. The organization based its decision on factors of usefulness, depth of content, functionality, aesthetics, alignment with its mission and values, availability of resources, and a community presence.

GoodTherapy.org is honored to recognize the important work of ASCA that provides hope, help and healing from the devastating effects of abuse,” said Kathleen Rankin, the organization’s partner and community relations manager. “ASCA is a vital resource for survivors, and we proudly stand in support of their mission.”

Day 1of the healing process

I am beyond ready to free myself of this crazy psychotic douchebag of a mother. I am currently researching different healing techniques and therapies, reading other blogs from other Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers (also known as DONMs), finding books, workshops, and other information about these life-sucking parasites. If anyone has any information about Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers, please let me know. Thanks

When one sheds the multitude of layers set upon by society (including family and friends), abuse, and neglect, we develop a love and compassion for self and others. This journey took a lot of hard work and is still evolving. Let’s share a moment together and learn from each other.
